Can anyone guess who's my favorite author and who's the most favorite hero in whole books I've ever read?
Lisa Kleypas is one of million favorite author and I love how she wrote fairy tale story in a ton of aristocrat family in 1880's centuries. Her style to told a dramatic scene was always be legend part of this book. Sebastian, Lord St. Vincent, was a great gentleman. I was read a lot of historical romance books and there was always the viscount with different character, but Sebastian catched me up in his whole side.
This was 3rd of wallflower series. I've read the first book "Secrets of Summer Night" That story was great about Simon Hunt (a rich man married with Annabelle, the oldest wallflowers, the poorest of them). The second book "It Happened One Autumn" Told me the steps how to married your enemy 🤣 I love hate love relationship between Marcus and Liliana. They have full of love but did't tell their feeling after one kiss changed everything like a magic spell🤣
To my beloved reader friend who after finished the 2nd wallflower series, could you describe how Sebastian is?
Sebastian is the selfish egotistical player. He reputation is so dangerous that thirty second alone with him will ruin any maiden's good name. Still, that bewitching chit appeared, unchaperoned, on his doorstep to offer her hand. Certainly an aristocrat with fine eye for beauty could do far worse.
I hated Sebastian in 2nd book, he kidnap his friend's fiance. But in solo book I really love how Sebastian tried his best, he protected Evie as like as breathing.
This story as like other but there was a spirit to made plot real...
Evangeline Jener is a lady who always seat at the corner room side with another ladies else (Annabelle, Liliana, Daisy). We called them "Wallflowers" a group of ladies didn't arrest attention from young gentlemen. Evie was 23 years old, in ton of aristocrat London she was a spinster. Her father's relative force to married Evie with male cousin, the man who always Evie hated because he was cruel and gready.
When Evie desperate to escape her scheming relatives, she offered a purpose to Sebastian to married her because she known that Sebastian need money. I love how Evie normally a shy wallflower but at the beginning of this book she decided to go after what she wants.
London daily morning news reported that Sebastian would be next impoverished Duke. Therefor he took Evie's offer.
The moment they agree at their offer 'BOOOOOOOOM" my face red.
They went to Scotland and married at church in country side. There was not family, relatives or friend.
After they were back in London as a couple, Evie gave Sebastian half of her property but Sebastian didn't take it. Sebastian was not a asshole man to leave his wife alone. Sebastian thought why the reason Evie was a wallflower when she has everything. She was beautiful, good hearthed. Evie more than any woman he ever known. Sebastian has been falling in love with his wife 🥰😍
"You don't have to be anything other than what you are. Isn't that what you told me earlier? If you can love me without condition, Sebastian, can't I love you the same way? I know who you are. I think we know each other better than we know ourselves. Don't you dare send me away, you co-coward. Who else would love my freckles? Who would care that my feet were cold? Who else would ravish me in the billiards room." Evie Said.
"My love is upon you, " He whispered,
Then she knew then that she had won.
"Evie," He murmured. "I swear on my life, you will never pain from my hands, I proveprove a devil of a husband in every other regard but I wouldn't hurt you that way. You must believe that."
I love how Evie taking care of her father and Sebastian running a gambling hell. They were together build a family. This to good to be true and I didn'tt expect two people in different character and society would been real couple in real life 😌 if there, can Sebastian being my man?
Sebastian is one of the sexiest heroes ever written. Gosh the man just make me melted.
In the end of the story He got everyone wants - Rich aristocrat.
Devil in Winter is one of the best historical books I've ever read.
